Founder & Managing Director of The Algorithm People

Sarah has a strong track record of entrepreneurial innovation, having co-founded the multi award-winning Route Monkey Ltd. Route Monkey was a pioneer of route optimisation software, supplying  prestigious companies such as Iceland Foods, which deployed the technology to increase efficiencies in its home delivery service.

After successfully growing and selling Route Monkey, Sarah is now the managing director and co-founder of The Algorithm People, a Newcastle-based software house specialising in solutions for the road transport sector.

Since its inception in 2019, The Algorithm People has attracted £1.3 million in two rounds of investment. This has enabled the company to create a unique, web-based, pay-as-you-go platform called My Transport Planner. This platform enables van and truck operators of all sizes to plan their routes and loads in the most efficient way possible. It reduces their mileage, which saves money and also cuts carbon emissions. The company is also a leader in optimising electric vehicles.

Sarah is a passionate advocate for the homeless and has supported various initiatives including taking part in an executive sleep-out with Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon. In her spare time she enjoys running, reading and taking long walks with her dog.
