Inclusive Innovation Forum: The Diverse Path to Success

Founders of colour have built over a million businesses, created over three million jobs, and delivered more than £74 billion to the UK economy and it’s only growing. All of this whilst facing systemic barriers such as minimal funding (less than two percent of VC funds in the UK), institutional racism, and lack of access to networks. So, how are founders of colour finding success?

In this virtual roundtable, we will bring together policy makers, investors, and underserved founders to deep dive into the state of startup operations. The Entrepreneurs Network will use the insights of this project to inform its policy work.

The discussion will be wide-ranging with a focus on three questions:

  • Do founders of colour set their companies up differently (for eg. CIC and cooperatives)?

  • Are founders of colour more likely to have diverse teams? What is the impact of this?

  • Are founders of colour more likely to bootstrap their way to success?
