The Female Founders Forum was set up by The Entrepreneurs Network in partnership with Barclays to encourage, support and promote female entrepreneurship.

With support from Beauhurst, we were the first organisation to release data on the equity funding gap, and over nearly a decade, we’ve brought together some of the UK’s most inspirational female entrepreneurs, rising stars, investors, policymakers and business leaders to identify challenges, spotlight success stories and push for meaningful change.

Our mission is to make the UK the best place in the world to be a female founder. We do this through research, influential reports and impactful events that inform policy, connect entrepreneurs and drive forward the national conversation around gender and business.

Each year, we continue to bring new insights into the evolving landscape of female entrepreneurship. Through our annual reports, we’ve explored topics ranging from funding gaps to mentorship, regional inequalities, the impact of COVID-19, innovation at the technological frontier and the transformative role of female angel investors. We’ve investigated why women-led businesses are less likely to scale, exposed the structural barriers holding them back and identified practical solutions to overcome them. From uncovering who gets funded and why to highlight the importance of networks, visibility and local investment ecosystems, our work continues to shape how policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs think about gender and growth.

Beyond research, the Forum is a vibrant network. We host events to support ambitious female founders and amplify their voices at every stage of growth, as well as facilitate connections between established female entrepreneurs and those on the cusp of rapid growth.
