All businesses will be hit by a crisis at some point. The most successful businesses are those which adapt quickly and turn a crisis situation into one which they can use to their advantage. Crises are not all the same, and they are not all like the COVID-19 pandemic. The next crisis could specifically impact your industry and be something like a surprise change in regulation, or it could affect just you and your business, like a flood in your office.
In this event you will learn how to prepare your business for unexpected issues. You will learn about:
What the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre thinks you need to do to protect your business from cyber attacks
How to deal with a ransomware attack when faced with one
How entrepreneurs managed to respond flexibly to the COVID-19 pandemic
How banks can help entrepreneurs through times of crisis
The Government’s National Cyber Security Centre was set up in October 2016. It helps to manage and mitigate the impact of cyber attacks. Our speaker from the NCSC will lead an interactive session on how to manage a ransomware attack.
Jennifer Johansson is the founder and CEO of Placed; a recruitment app built specifically for fast moving service industries. Drawing upon the business's experiences during the pandemic, she is going to be talking about how to react flexibly in a time of crisis
Heather Lyons is the founder of Blueshift Eduction. She identified that tools for the remote teaching of coding and digital literacy skills were limited in the pandemic and her business aims to address this growing skills gap in online learning and empower young students to become digital creators.
Katherine Morgan is the Head of High Growth and Entrepreneurs at Barclays. She will talk about the role banks and relationship managers can play in helping businesses through times of crisis.
