Kamet Ventures is a venture builder focused on the healthcare and insurance sectors – it identifies specific problems, develops potential solutions, and works with experienced entrepreneurs to spin up these solutions into businesses in their own right, providing seed funding and incubation/acceleration to enable the startups to eventual operate entirely independently.
Taking a highly scientific approach to innovation, it has built a portfolio of 15 ventures operating across the UK and Europe, in areas as diverse as life insurance, cancer detection, home care, fertility, risk modelling, and telemedicine.
Co-Founder and managing director Michael Niddam is a former startup founder and experienced management consultant, having previously been a partner in the TMT and Insurance teams at BCG.
As a venture builder specialising in healthtech, Michael will reflect on what the post-Covid future of health and social care might look like, as well as growing trends such as the rise of femtech and AI based solutions. Also, as a venture builder rather than pure VC, he will talk about the process of creating a business alongside a founder, which is a very different path to entrepreneurialism.
