Join us to hear Xero’s Late Payment Taskforce reveals its recommendations for Government on new solutions to the late payments crisis. Hear from experts in behavioural change, language, and business who have examined the reasons behind late payment, providing solutions on how to break the cycle, and drive cultural transformation.
The anchor for discussion is the lifecycle of the invoice. At different stages, there are different causes of delay. We think identifying and addressing these, individually and together, can help accelerate the payment cycle.

Xero’s Position on Late Payments
As a platform with over 2 million small business subscribers, evidence has shown that most of Xero’s customers have unfortunately had to deal with the issue of late payments. As a result, Xero is well versed in the topic and understands just how much it can affect small firms across the country. As a business, Xero reduced their payment terms to 10 days in 2020, and by bringing together the Late Payments Taskforce, hopes to help provide a real solution to this issue.
Xero sees technology as a way to streamline the processes that can hold up payment. It has launched integrations with providers such as Stripe to enable customers to accept online invoice payments via credit card, debit card or Apple Pay, which enables businesses to be paid up to 18 days faster. Xero has also made it easier for invoices to be paid faster by introducing a ‘pay now’ button to invoices within Xero.
