The Entrepreneurs Network and Barclays are hosting a panel discussion during Labour Party Conference (held outside the secure zone). At this event you will:
– Hear from some of Brighton’s most inspirational female founders on their experiences starting and growing a business;
– Consider how our education system can be reformed to ensure female entrepreneurs flourish;
– Share ideas on how female leaders can better support one another through networks;
– Hear from female entrepreneurs and politicians on how we can close the funding gap.
– Network over tea, coffee, wine and finger food with female leaders.
Opening speakers:
Seema Malhotra is Labour MP for Feltham and Heston and a former Shadow Chief Secretary. She is also Chair of the APPG for Entrepreneurship, and wrote the foreword for its Women in Leadership paper. Seema is passionate about ensuring female entrepreneurs can start and scale businesses in the UK.
Rupa Huq MP was elected Member of Parliament for Ealing Central and Acton at the 2015 general election. She was formerly a lecturer in sociology at Kingston University and deputy mayoress of the London Borough of Ealing.
Catherine West MP is Labour Member of Parliament for Hornsey and Wood Green. She is a former Shadow Foreign Office Minister and has particular interest in the positive impact small businesses can have on local communities.
Seni Glaister is Founder of WeFiFo, an online platform connecting Supper Club hosts, professional chefs and home cooks with guests hungry for authentic food experiences. In 1988 Seni co-founded The Book People. Under her leadership as CEO, it grew into a business with a £110m turnover employing 450 people. Seni launched WeFiFo in 2016 and regularly contributes to international debates & forums talking passionately about the food & book industries and entrepreneurship.
Claire Mason is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Man Bites Dog, the most award-winning B2B marketing and public relations consultancy in Europe. A born entrepreneur and innovator, Claire worked on her first business at 14, published a book at 25 and at 30 established Man Bites Dog as specialists in marketing communications for the knowledge economy.
Juliet Rogan is the Head of High Growth & Entrepreneurs at Barclays. She leads a team of relationship directors dedicated to supporting high growth companies and their founders across the UK.
