APPG for Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship Education

We need to equip young people with the skills to start, run, and grow a business. Over half of young people in the UK have thought about starting a business, yet most don't know where to start. There is a dearth of inspiring role models. Over half of young people can't name an entrepreneur who inspires them.

Exposure to entrepreneurship is a key driver of entrepreneurial ambitions. Young people are more entrepreneurial when they have a family member or friend who is a business owner.

Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. But the skills taught through entrepreneurship education will give young people the skills they need in a world where tech is disrupting traditional industries and a ‘job for life’ is no longer seen as realistic or desirable.

Your involvement will make a difference. It’s for entrepreneurs with a mix of experts, entrepreneurs, special advisers, civil servants and politicians. This virtual roundtable will help us form the questions for the APPG’s Call for Evidence, which will set the direction for the Briefing Paper and our efforts to influence policy.

This project is dedicated to Donna Irving, Co-Founder of Stepping Into Business. It is kindly supported by finnCap. As a firm of entrepreneurs, they are proud to partner education programmes which focus developing youth entrepreneurship and enhancing social mobility.

To attend, Advisers & Supporters should email events@tenentrepreneurs.org to confirm your attendance. A calendar invite will then be sent to you with all the details. Everyone else can request a place here.
