Innovation, International Trade and Economic Recovery - with Andrew Griffith MP

Andrew Griffith was elected as the MP for Arundel and South Downs at the 2019 general election. Prior to this he was the Prime Minister’s Chief Business Adviser responsible for developing policies and working with business and across government to make Britain the best place to start, grow and run. His own background includes a twenty seven year business career including as Chief Operating Officer for Sky plc, Rothschild and PWC.

Chris Hulatt is the co-founder of Octopus, a group of innovative, entrepreneurial businesses investing in the people, ideas and industries that will help to change the world. When Chris co-founded Octopus in 2000, it was with the belief that entrepreneurs can help drive change by disrupting established industries and putting customers first. Octopus has grown rapidly since then, building sizeable investment platforms in renewable energy, healthcare infrastructure and smaller companies. Octopus now has more than £9.1 billion funds under management from retail and institutional investors. In 2017, Chris was named EY UK Entrepreneur of the Year.

Katherine Fletcher is the Conservative MP for South Ribble, and has been an MP continuously since 12 December 2019. She studied Biology at University of Nottingham during which time she worked as a nursing assistant in an elderly care home. Before her election, Fletcher worked in management and IT consultancy, business banking operations, the Credit Union Movement and assisted in the early setup of the Northern Powerhouse. At the time of the election Fletcher was a small and medium enterprise (SME) business owner and a Town Councillor on Knutsford Town Council.

As the Secretariat of the APPG for Entrepreneurship, The Entrepreneurs Network is organising a series of webinars to bring parliamentarians and leading business owners together to explore what the future holds for startups and scaleups post-COVID-19.

The All Party Parliamentary Group for Entrepreneurship was set up to encourage, support and promote entrepreneurship. It also ensures that Parliament is kept up-to-date on what is needed to create and sustain the most favourable conditions for entrepreneurship.
