In his article for Tech City News, Philip Salter looks beyond the EU referendum vote to see how other policies from last year will effect the tech community over the country in 2017.
The three biggest changes to look out for are:
- The Uber ruling, and how we define workers, the self-employed and the employed, as well as what we expect of our bosses and the companies we work for.
- The end of the Autumn Statement, and how the cut in corporation tax, the Living Wage Increase and the increase in government spending on R&D will change the way businesses and workers operate in the UK.
- The Snooper’s charter, and whether the police force and the intelligence service being able to hack our software, hardware, network and servers will transform our view of what is public and what is private.
